Jay Cornell

Jay Cornell

Jay Cornell had a career as an editor and publisher in the “dead tree” segment of the industry before moving to the web in its early days. He has done development, production, writing, editing, graphics, and animation on more websites and HTML emails than he cares to count.

At RolloutSF, Jay wears many hats. He’s a skilled content creator, adept at condensing complex technical matter into entertaining, user-friendly content: website text, blog and social media posts, white papers, infographics, or whatever marketing material is needed. He’s good at finding just the right words to make your point (and catching those embarrassing typos). His art school training and long experience assisting art directors adapt to the web means he’s a pro at creating web graphics and adjusting CSS so that websites look good on all devices.

He is the former Managing Editor of (and contributor to) h+ magazine, the co-author (with R.U. Sirius) of Transcendence: The Disinformation Encyclopedia of Transhumanism and the Singularity, and has a contribution in Visions for a World Transformed: 99 Ideas for Making the World a Better Place — Starting Right Now.

In his spare time he makes up band names and song titles and designs covers for an imaginary record label.

“I’ve worked with Jay for a number of years on a number of projects and he's never let me down. Always on time. Always on budget. Always on target. In other words, he know what he’s doing. Those are the kind of people you want to hang on to. Hang on to Jay.”

Jay Cornell has worked with me as a writer, managing editor and coauthor for several publications, both online and off. His writing has always been on target and he’s always been reliable, trustworthy, punctual, easy to work with and fun to be around.

I’ve relied on Jay many times over the years for programming work on my website. It’s always a pleasure to hand off a job with the knowledge that it will be completed quickly, economically, and to the highest standards. Bonus points to Jay for being fun to work with!
